After seeing the previous crew of Rio, Carrick, Lampard, Cole, Defoe and G Johnson make big names for themselves the new generation have a lot to live up to.

Right now we have:

James Tomkins, 20, CB:-

Quality, calmness, intelligence, style. This boy has the future England position in his pocket. Shows his lack of experience sometimes but never repeats the same mistake and he makes far less than Rio did back then.

Mark Noble, 22, CM:-

Premiership veteran already and future captain. He does everything well - passing, tackling, positioning - but nothing spectacularly. Very consistent and in that light he's the next Lampard. Had an excellent partnership with Tevez.

Freddie Sears, 19, ST:

Alot of excitement around this one. A real fox-in-the-box. I thought he might only get to Defoe's level but his turning in the box is amazing. Will be loaned out next season to get games under his belt.

Jack Collison, 20, AM:

Made his name this season and he's an instant fan favourite. My nephew loves his hair. Plays very intelligent balls in the final third and drives forward well. Comfortable against any opposition. A lesser Gerrard maybe? We'll find out next season

Junior Stanislas, 19, LM:

This boy has undoubted quality at his feet. Excellent touch, ball control and dribbling. Needs to work on his crossing, decision-making and link up play. Also his attitude as he tends to lose heart in difficult matches. Could be a big player if carefully developed. Thankfully, Zola is the perfect man for the job.

Noble is good at everything but he doesn't have that something special. I was hoping he would progress like Lampard but 2 things Lamps always had was passing and taking shots from far. Noble doesn't so he won't be much better than he is now.

The others will make big names for themselves, mark my words, especially Tomkins.

remember when west ham had all those english players like defoe lampard and joe cole. its like that!!!! Stanislas is underrated he has scored aload of wondergoals this season from a good 25 yards. Noble is a born leader and is only 22. Tomkins is a rock at the back. And freddie sears is a super finisher.

West Ham's academy is without doubt one of, if not the best in England. I think Mark Noble is the next in a fine line of exports(to Chelsea maybe?)

They all seem to be decent players so far, Noble is a good little midfielder.  Son't think Sears will make it though, he'd have been kept this season not sent out on loan, West Ham don't have many forwards
