the sooner they lose they better.... stop wasting everybody's time and effort chasing something england arent gonna win.

if gerrard gets injured, *** him, im not gonna play the violins for him... risking all for some stupid match against  stupid opponents.

    Re: England: Euro Qualifiers

you are speakingl like gerrard's mama at times. He's more matured than you to know that he's fit to play for his country. He was the one who announced himself fit for the game. Try to understand these words from a typical English lad.

"I have had a broken toe and I have been playing since day one of the season with an injection," John Terry said at the England training camp in Hertfordshire. "It is not going to get any better or any worse from having an injection - it might just take a little longer to heal."Look, it is a short career and I don't want to miss one game for Chelsea or England, or even miss a single training session. If that means having an injection, then I will do it. I am sure Stevie is the same because he loves playing for his country, loves showing his passion on the field."It is a broken toe. It swells up a little bit, you ice it afterwards. Me and Frank Lampard do the same thing at Chelsea - we try to get the swelling back down and be ready for the next game. Whether I'd do it at 36, I don't know, but you must remember it's a short career."

This is from the man, whom we are proud to call as the 'pride of chelsea'. I wish stevie had the same mentality as JT.

    Re: England: Euro Qualifiers

I certainly wouldn't have expected him to miss the chance to represent my country, in the name of saving himself for the club. It would be pathetic, in my opinion?

To me, having one WC winner medal is better than having 10 CL /20 league titles... You won't understand this mentality, coz " it is in the blood".

    Re: England: Euro Qualifiers

Even now, I'm ready for a another debate regarding that....

    any way,

a decent performance to knock the life out of israel yesterday. Good performances from Barry, Joey and SWP. Gerrard looked pretty ordinary, JT got a knock or two, Rio looked fine. But Israel didn't even hit the target once. I could see Mcclown heaving a sign of relief after the match...

I hope they can continue in the same vein aginst the russians.. who should be better equipped and prepared under guus hiddink.

gerrard got cramps after only 70 minutes..  we've yet to know how long he'll be out now becuz of that fearful *** McClown..

and he WILL play against russia

im not liking his relationship with english NT.... if it takes lfc losing the league becuz of his "patriotism" then i hope he takes a good look in the mirror before deciding which is more important (and achievable)

    Re: England: Euro Qualifiers

I bet not only gerrard, but any english footballer would choose country when given a choice. May be in ya country, they would prefer playing for a club rather than representing their country....

You must be the only one in the world, who says the club is more important than the country.

Scotland follows England out of control to qualify for Euros.

England lose 2-1 vs Russia - Scotland trailing 2-0 vs Georgia!  What Michael Owen was saying about England, who can compete with  Brazil ?

Re: THE3LIONS: OFFICIAL THREAD OF ENGLAND

who knows...I see Greece qualified easily.

the next tournament to qualify for is the World Cup isn't it? lol

Honestly though, I think the winners of the Copa America(South American Championship), European Championship, African Nations Cup, Gold Cup and those trophies competed for among nations should Automatically qualify for the World Cup.  It would take away some of the schedule clutter and i don't know, i think it makes some sense.

    What do you think?

it would be easier if all of this championships will go against each other for the biggest championship like a champion amongs the champions (unless of course there already is one)...that way, there will never be a question of who or what is the best championship in football

Re: THE3LIONS: OFFICIAL THREAD OF ENGLAND

bye bye england, if you're not good enough to qualify, you're not good enough to be there. With only 1 world cup in 66, i say the english talk too much for their own good.. they win against a country you cant even see in the map (Andorra) and think they can beat anyone 'on their day'- last time i seen England dominate so convincingly was when they thrashed Germany 4-1.

could it be the manager? could it be because players arent hungry enough? could it be selection policy (reputation rather than form)? could it be because the media hypes up english players so much that, it gets to their heads eventually? could it be because they have too many foreign players in the premiership? or could it be the philosophy of English football which is being taught to the kids at youth academies right up to senior football?

too many questions and im sure non will be addressed, apart from the impact of foreign players in the english football leagues. bye bye england. i hope i live to see them go to a final of a credible tournament.. 1 day.
