When Serie A broke down due to the scandals, every one predicted la liga to cash on its absence. Though it got its fair share of players moving into spain, the quality of teams who have come into CL is hardly impressive.
1. Madrid's been in a free fall right from 2003 and it is no wonder that the once-mighty santiago bernabeu crowd had to watch the 2 goals conceded by the team with utter disbelief. Surpraisingly, this came after real took the lead. But madrid was nowhere to be seen in the second half which was dominated by a another struggling side, munich. Those two goals have already plotted the madrid's exit from the most lucrative competition in europe. Last year, a rejuvenated arsenal side was enough to sink the merengues by a goal which ultimately led to their exit.
2. Barca was a big let-down this season. They are very inconsistent, complacent and even arrogant at times in the la liga games. Their position in the table is flattering, indeed it is. If we see the league table where the top teams are separated by a few points shows that all are inconsistent as well...
Valencia is their only hope there, but no one predict anything about this side.
any specific reasons for this situation.....your suggestions..
