im an inter fan. and tbh i really cant wait for that rule. i want to see more italians in this squad and that rule will make us purchase more italians. umm, viera i still want. dacourt can go. sell him if we can. quaresma will be a good buy. menez will stay @ monaco if not wenger will buy him. as for an italian dm. they're taken. unless we can get de rossi. but that wont happen.

Re: F.C. INTERNAZIONALE MILANO OFFICIAL THREAD

That's one of the main issues I see with Inter - apart from Ibra, who's the other star for the future?? They don't have a Sebastian Giovinco or Bojan, etc, etc.. Sure Ibrahimovic is great, but they need at least one other 'big' prospect.

And Quaresma is also a great player, but a replacement for Luis Figo?? I mean, Inter's Luis Figo isn't Barcelona's Luis Figo.. I think Riquelme would've been a more apropiatte replacement for Figo.. Maybe if Riquelme wasn't so underrated. Nevertheless, Quaresma would make a fine adition.

Patrick Vieira - finished, too old to play his trade. Why not Mascherano?? His future in Liverpool isn't certain.

And as for the rules FIFA's talking about - I hope that never happens, it would be unfair for non-Italian players. Wether there are many Italians or few Italians, that's up to the managers and the players themselves - I doubt an Italian player with Roberto Baggio's talent would be ignored in favor of a Brazilian player. Then again I could be terribly wrong.

we have a prodimantly south american squad. nothing wrong with that. we are winning aernt we? but, if more teams in the serie a start doing what we are doing then italian football mite be in shamble (like the english is). i know im being very drastic but seriously we need more italians plying their trade at inter. the only 1 that stands out for me is matrix. and we are winning the league which says sumthing.

Re: F.C. INTERNAZIONALE MILANO OFFICIAL THREAD

You have a point there, Italian Giants (AC Milan, Juventus, and Inter) have very few Italians playing on their 1st team. AC Milan is the unofficial Brazilian national team, and Inter is full of Argentines, etc, etc.. but I don't think that's down to the foreign players, the responsibility lies in the club's president and directors.

There's always going to be controversy, this 'football globalisation' or whatever you want to call it, this is not happening to English Football and Inter in particular, this is also happening in Spanish Football and it's giants (Real Madrid and Barcelona). I mean, look at Inter, AC Milan, Barcelona, Real Madrid, Liverpool, etc, etc.. Look at the last Champions League winners; Barcelona (Ronaldinho, Xavi, Henrik Larsson, Samuel Eto'o, Carles Puyol, Deco, etc, etc), Liverpool, AC Milan (Kaka, Inzaghi, Clarence Seedorf, Gennaro Gatusso, Andrea Pirlo, etc, etc), Real Madrid (Zinedine Zidane, Luis Figo, Raul, Roberto Carlos, etc, etc), etc, etc..

It is an example that's hard to ignore becasue it is 'effective'. Liverpool has reached 2 Champions League Finals with a club that haves very few English players, the same goes for AC Milan (they have their fair share of Italians, but they also have lots of Brazilians), and for Barcelona (French, Argentines, Brazilians, Portugues, Mexican, Spanish, etc, etc). It looks quite inevitable becasue it is effective.

At least, as a positive fact - at least Italy haves a player who looks like the next big thing, there was Roberto Baggio, after him came Del Piero and Totti, and after those two Italy had no one. At least, now, they have Sebastian Giovinco.

And as for Inter - I do not agree with those drastic measures, but Inter should have more Italians on their team.

By the way, ¿¿How come Juventus haves all those 'Italian prospects' and Inter and AC Milan have none?? I don't get it.. I mean, Juventus was made up by lots of nationalitise; Alessandro Del Piero, Pavel Nedved, David Trezeguet, Emerson, Cannavaro, Camoranesi, Patrick Vieira, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Liliam Thuram, etc, etc.. and still they have developed a group of promising Italian youngsters. Why couldn't Inter and AC Milan do the same?? and why can't they do it?

inter do have prospects but when they try to make the 1st team the foreigners are selected. we have a future italian prospect breaking thur last season (Marco Andreolli) and we sold him to roma. obviously we consider the money more important. so roma get a bargain and a future italian player.

this gets me frustrated. i know its drastic but it will make leagues more even and national players a chance to represent  their fav clubs.

Re: F.C. INTERNAZIONALE MILANO OFFICIAL THREAD

I think it's a little harsh on Juventus and Milan though.  They both have quite a few Italians.

Milan with Gattuso, Pirlo, Inzaghi, Gilardino, Nesta, Oddo, Maldini and Ambrosini all can be considered regulars and that's 8 players.

Juventus with Del Piero, Iaquinta, Legrottaaglie, Chiellini, Buffon, Zanetti, Nocerino , Molinaro and Palladino are also playing members of 9 players.

Both clubs still purchase their Trezeguets, Nedveds, Ronaldos, Kakas etc and they make up the rest not the majority.  Inter has the same amount of South Americans starting.

they both have gr8 sqauds and dont forget about roma. this exactly what im saying if we could change most of the south americans into italians and have a fair share of foreigners playing then im all for it.

but still im over the moon at the way inter are playing atm. keep it up lads!

(SOURCE: GOAL.COM) Inter Want Vagner Love, Not Ronaldinho

Report  The Gazzetta dello Sport is today suggesting that Inter Milan’s recent dealings with Ronaldinho’s brother and agent Roberto de Assis are in fact designed to try and sign CSKA Moscow’s Vagner Love.

The two Milan giants, Internazionale and AC Milan are currently believed to be in a gripping tug-of-war battle for Barcelona superstar Ronaldinho.

Yesterday ‘Marca’ reported that Inter President Massimo Moratti had met Ronaldinho’s brother and agent Roberto de Assis in Spain.

While it was initially assumed that this was in order to discuss a possible transfer for the Brazilian playmaker, this may in fact not be the case. The ‘Gazzetta’ claims that discussions may have centred around CSKA Moscow striker Vagner Love. De Assis is not the agent of the player, however he has been issued rights to help with a possible transfer.

Inter boss Roberto Mancini is a known admirer of Love, who impressed in the Champions League against the Nerazzurri this season, scoring in the entertaining 4-2 clash at San Siro.
This is not the first time that the 23-year-old has been linked to Inter, as Mancini is also said to be keen on his club and national team-mates Daniel Carvalho and Jo.

Re: F.C. INTERNAZIONALE MILANO OFFICIAL THREAD

Maschernao reportedly said that he would like a move out of the Premiership and into Serie A. He particularly said ' to Juventus', but first thing that went through my mind was 'this guy could be a really good replacement for Patrick Vieira.. plus he would be a long-term signing'. Worth every penny, he adapted to English Football incredibly fast, and he would probably play better in Italian Football.

Given that Juventus's sport director Alessio Secco (the one who wasted millions of euros on Tiago and Almiron) is an incompetent, and will most likely miss on Mascherano - Inter's in luck, they have more than enough money to sign one of The best defensive midfielders out there.. and for what is worth, Mascherano plays for Argentina (something that would probably make his adaption easier).

Mancini and Moratti should really consider signing him as a long-term replacement for ageing Vieira.

spot on there mate, crespo, zanetti, cruz and the rest of the argentinians at inter will be in mancini's and moratti's ear about gettin mascherano. and mascherano himself wouldnt mind playin for the best team in Italy. and yes, he will definently fit in.

(SOURCE = GOAL.COM) Balotelli Savours Moment Of Glory

Inter's man of the moment Mario Balotelli was an excited young kid - just what he is - after helping Inter to a 3-2 win over Juventus in one of the biggest games of the club's season.

Balotelli, 17, scored the first and the third goal against Juventus, helping his team qualify for the semi-finals of the Coppa Italia 5-4 on aggregate.

The youngster, lovingly named 'Supermario', could hardly believe what had just happened, but recovered enough to speak to Inter Channel.

"I'm very happy, and I thank Mancini who played me from the start. I was very tired at the end," he said.

"Maniche made a great pass for my first goal. I controlled it well, which was the most difficult thing, and I kept my cool.

"For my second goal I trapped the ball and someone else was calling for it, but I decided to shoot. It went well."

    Toldo On Youngsters

Veteran Francesco Toldo, almost old enough to be Balotelli's father, was delighted with the performance of the youngsters.

"It's gratifying to make saves like the ones I made today, but I want to underline the performance of Balotelli, who led us to victory, and Pelé, who held up the midfield," he said.

    "And Rivas also did well."

    Nelson Thanks Cordoba

Colombian defender Nelson Rivas, in turn, chose to credit Ivan Cordoba for the support.

"We all played well, we worked hard and it was the right result," he said. "Me and Ivan talked a lot in defence with Maicon and Maxwell, and we were very focused.

"The team played a nice game, let's hope we continue like this. Cordoba helped me so much. I thank him."

    Pele's Delight

Young Portuguese midfielder Pele was just as delighted.

"The team played a good match, we worked a lot on the pitch. Qualifying was important, and we're happy," he said.

"Thanks to the coach for playing me. I think I had a positive game and I hope to be more and more useful to the team."

He was on the receiving end of a poor tackle from Mauro Camoranesi, but did not make too much of it despite the obvious ferocity of the game, showing that he might also have a very mature head on his shoulders.

"He apologised straight away, there aren't any problems," he said, nipping controversies in the bud.

Re: F.C. INTERNAZIONALE MILANO OFFICIAL THREAD

Mancini is not a Champions League manager, and Inter.. I said it since the beginning - Inter needed a player like Juan Roman Riquelme, someone to take the pressure with Ibrahimovich. There's no question about it, Inter need a playmaker - they want Ronaldinho and that's not going to happen.. should've gone with available playmakers such as Riquelme.

Anyways - Inter has been effectively eliminated from the Champions League, so let's see who Inter signs to fill that 'creativity' they're lacking. The season isn't nearly over - another dissapointing Champions League. Now it's been 3 years in a row, Inter must learn that they lack something, they lack that something that is needed to suceed at the Champions League. Everytime they're off to a flying start they say the same thing - "we don't need anyone, bla, bla.. we have one of the best teams in Europe, bla, bla, bla.." - well they should realise by now that they need someone, and that their current suqad is not enough to win a Champions League.
