    Re: A.S. ROMA OFFICIAL THREAD

What exactly do y'all guys think are Roma's weaknesses or for that matter Totti's weaknesses as well?

I ask because ever since that embarrassment vs United, I was trying to find answers to why Roma aren't winning more besides simple consistency cause there has to be a reason they fall down occasionally...

perhaps need a few more foreigners and world class players. in addition a really good defender to partner mexes/juan. maybe a world class keeper. i dun consider doni to be brazil's best despite what dunga thinks.

    Re: A.S. ROMA OFFICIAL THREAD

Yeah Dunga is a little dylusional i think, but hey he seems to get results....

However, this piece of news might indicate what Roma need:

Francesco Totti has told Roma that he wants them to sign two to three players in January – Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Thierry Henry.

Perhaps wishful thinking about Messi, but I think seriously that Ronaldo given he's talking about R9 and Henry given that Barca made a mistake i think would be a viable pursuit.  R9 may be able to move since Milan haven't gotten anything from him of real note, so a decent bid would make Milan think.

Messi is out of the question!

Henry, who was also injured the majority of last season, cannot be seen as reliable in two or three season and any bid of around 15 million would do perfectly, since Barcelona would've already made up alot more than 1 million in revenue related to Henry, plus stand to gain more in transfer clauses.

Nonetheless, I find Roma slightly toothless with a sort of foot in their mouth situation regarding the current players.  Most of them are not winners of note except Totti with the rest, for the most part, unproven players except a few.  Guily for example is questionable as a star player since he was easily traded as captain from Monaco, from Barcelona as a bit part player regardless of Messi because he wasn't even seen as a worthy backup.  And Roma just seem to have too many of these type of players ~ support players.  A couple more leaders in the true sense would be an asset like the impact Emerson, Batistuta & co. had before ~ both captains and worthy leaders of recognised footballing teams(Batigol - Fiorentina & Argentina and Emerson - Brazil).  Getting rid of Montella didn't help their cause.

i'd say that i agree with you Gregory partly - we really need some more leaders and winners, although i don't doubt that they all want to win, but maybe they just aren't as ambitious as Totti. i wouldn't take Ronaldo, i'd take Messi (jes, you said that he's out of the question, but i may dream), he's still young and has many years to offer us ;)

we made a draw with united, though i really think that we played well and deserved a win. it was great to see Spalletti living every moment of the match even if it didn't matter if we win or lose, this is the kind of coach i like.

..Roma played a descent game against Manu..]

    it was an open one..

The problem with roma ias that they need a Midfielder(play maker) and put totti as a striker maybe....

Totti cant do it all alone!

i reckon totti shuld stick as the playmaker and roma shuld get an out an out forward. always up front and ready to pounce on what totti offers.

    Re: A.S. ROMA OFFICIAL THREAD

I never liked Real that much at all, ever. After watching Roma for a majority of the year as well, Idon't like them much either (especially that 4-1 spanking against Inter earlier in the year). Both teams are very inconsistent, so I think it will come down to who is playing better at that point in time.
