i find it is actually a great solution because i respect their transfer policy...
- Always leave room for the best player in the World...
- Defenders at peak are close to 30, give or take 3 or 4 years
- Strikers are pretty good, Inzaghi(33), Gilardino(23), Pato(18), Ronaldo(31) ~ always good to have experience with youth, that way when Inzaghi and ronaldo moves on, you just get another couple strikers of similar calibre who will emerge especially if Gilardino and Pato don't turn out to be superb or effective
- Midfielders are at ideal ages with experience and not too too old ~ Makelele shows that you can be a defensive midfielder after 30, so Gattuso is there, your main man can be between Pirlo and Kaka who are not old and Seedorf maintains a standard from experience.
All in all, i find that Milan have an effective transfer policy where they don't pay that much for players, so they can afford to pay them and keeps the squad relatively fresh but balanced and stable by keeping certain players to form a core. Remember how Leonardo, Weah and Bierhoff weren't exactly young either. They've maintained this formula and it has worked, not only for them, but Juventus used it as well until the Italian scandal put them off a little, but you'll notice that it is still similar with Nedved, Del Piero & co forming what is similar to Inzaghi, Seedorf at Milan and let's not forget their defenders who left ~ cannavaro and zambrotta ~ fit the bill of close to 30 give or take 3 or 4 years are still playing. Let's not lose sight of who were winning the trophies. Even Inter Milan taking advantage of Juventus' situation does the same thing with their defenders, midfield and attack.
Top scorers and performers in Europe are identical ages to the Milan model of forming teams, so i wouldn't complain about age...Milan didn't want Shevchenko to go, but you don't find players like Shevchenko everyday
JOGO BONITA!
