even though newcastle are manager less, to win 6-0 against a team with players like that is a job well done.

brilliant result, you can only beat waht is put in front of you.  just because they are in disaray, doesnt take away the fact we were fantastic.

Saha is crocked, linked with Huntelaar... good buy? I think so, cheaper than berbatov and not likly to demand starting place like Dimitar would.  Any one ever seen Manucho play?  Can't find anything on him!

Also Benzema has expressed an interest in moving and listed us in his list of clubs... oh and we should have bought Pato that guys pure un-adultarated talent!!!

And its been picked up by Ryan Giggs,
Yorke has made a diagnal run,
    Theirs support in the centre,
    but hes past Keown...
    past Dixon...
AND HAS SCORED A SENSATIONAL GOAL!!!

Stupse.  I think I predicted that Louis Saha will be injured again before the end of the season.

When will Sir Alex Ferguson swallow his pride and realise that he will never get 15 straight games from Louis Saha.  Sell him!  Furthermore, I don't even rate Saha. It is time to look on...

Dimitar Berbatov is worth the money, he would be great in a club like Man. Utd.

Anyways, great performance from Man U, they scored goals almost effortlestly, and the Ronaldo-Rooney-Tevez chemistry is getting better.

This season's Champions League will be unpredictable in my opinion because this year we have a couple of teams with great potential; Manchester United with Tevez-Rooney-Ronaldo-Hargreaves, AC Milan with Kaka-Ronaldo-Pato, Barcelona with Messi-Henry-Bojan, Arsenal with Fabregas-Eduardo-Rosicky, Real Madrid with Robinho-Robben-Ruud, Liverpool with Torres, etc, etc.. Any team can win it.

It's more like Messi-Henry-Eto'o not in that order, but Bojan is still a youngster and should be left to grow somemore

Saha needs to be sold and quick, to me Huntelaar would be a great signing and if that doesn't happen I would think Amauri would be a decent signing through he could be another Shevchenko .Berbatov wouldn't be smart signing and he would demand to play first team football.

If Berbatov signs for United, he should demand first team football.  He will score more goals than Rooney and Tevez and if Saha can start at United then surely a FIT Berbatov should be entitled to regular starts.  United cannot expect better players to come in and take second place, just because it is Manchester United.

Amauri to United i think would be bad for both parties, especially since he'll be easily used as second fiddle and cost alot of money.  Shevchenko was tried and tested though

Then who would you take out Rooney or tevez or should we play 3 strikers or should United wait until tevez's loan finishes and then sign berbatov

    Re: MANCHESTER UNITED OFFICIAL THREAD

In Fergies mind Rooney starts every game... he is the first name on the teams sheet (along side Ferdinand).  If United signed Berbatov it is likly that Rooney - Berb would be the forseen first choice, with Rooney -Tevez or Tevez - Berb (for when Rooney breaks yet another foot bone) coming next.  Simply Because of the money involved and the fact that Berbatov offers that flawess intergration between the attack and midfield.  He is so classy and would help the team flow much more naturally, becuase technically he is better than Tevez... now I am not disrespcting Tevez hear.  He is amazingly talented, he never stops running and their seems to be no end to his involvment in games, just like Rooney.  They can both play on the shoulder and make runs, great finishers (Rooney slightly ahead) they both love dropping deep, working extremely hard, great passers and unselfish.  But when Rooney is fully fit he is better than Tevez, stronger and much more deadly.  Although this would give you three fantastic options to rotate over the season I still think friction would occur, Berbatov and Tevez both Deserve to play every game along with Rooney.  So I think Huntelaar who has lots of very similar atributes to Berbatov would be a much more sensible purchase.  Cheaper and wouldn't be demanding starting every game as you could imagine Berb or Tevez would after any pro-longed spell on the bench would could be highly forseable.

Having said that i'm sure Fergie could handle either situation and the club will only floursih... with Danny walbeck coming threw and the buy back clause in Rossi's transfer to Villareal I am sure we will be fine for many years to come lol But having Berbatov would be a lot of fun!!!

Good game today.  tevez just keeps getting better and better, his touch is so much more assured than it was.  Ronaldo was kept in check most of the game but he just scores its getting silly.  Rooney hmmm dont like him as an out n out front man, things arn't working for him ryt now.  Hes still head a shoulders above most players but his touch just isnt their and you can tell its getting to him, its like hes trying a little to hard.

Hargreaves was brilliant, getting to every thing, and although it was for only 10 mins Anderson was a barrel of fun easily my fave player now!!!

    Re: MANCHESTER UNITED OFFICIAL THREAD

I think Platini's point was brought out in Italy's 3-1 distruction of Portugal and C. Ronaldo being the best in the World.  Interesting this is the 2nd or 3rd footballing lesson his Portuguese team was given by an Italian opposition with Ac Milan once and Italy twice now in recent history.

Winning a EPL title is fine, but when you cannot translate that into international trophies or European for that matter, then Fifa & co. will have problems crowning a player from the EPL as World Player of the Year when on average, other players tend to emerge victorious against English opposition.

    Re: MANCHESTER UNITED OFFICIAL THREAD

Your talking about a one man team here... Italy are a much stronger side overall who happen to be world champions.  Portugal as a team are not as strong as Italy, so they were likley to get beaten.  Now this whole Ronaldo debate is a strange one, on current form he is probably the best in the world, he is playing better than any one, scoring creating etc but that doesn't mean he is the best in the world.  He has a great scoring record for his country, but I think putting winning with your country as a marker for a players greatness is just out of order.  George Best... Ryan Giggs... both un-arguably to of the greatest players to ever play the game, neither have done anything with their countrys but still amazing players.  And best was named european player of the year or world player I am not completly sure so the idea of performing for country is jst wrong to me.

Canavaro won it the other year becuase Italy won the world cup, despite his shakey year at Real Madrid.  Going to show it was politics.  last year it came down to the fact Kaka played a huge part in Milan beating Manchester United, while Ronaldo was marked out of both games by Gattuso.  The one united player to stand up and be counted was Rooney, who plays for the big occasion which is somthing Ronaldo hasnt done yet. European player of the year will generally go to champions league winners, world player of the year to international mertis and champs league, Theiry Henry would have won it years ago if he were in Spain or Italy but the Eurpeans look down on the EPL why? our over-hyping media? jelousy over money? or the fact europe have never really liked us ever!

    Re: MANCHESTER UNITED OFFICIAL THREAD

Cannavaro played for Juventus when he won it, he was just crowned at Madrid...formality!

Another thing, Ryan Giggs is a great footballer i'l give him that, never saw George Best....but two of the best of all time?  C'mon!  Minus country, Giggs won one Champions League, George Best did nothing more than Maradona.  Let's be a little more modest please.  They were icons, great players....

The idea that Ronaldo was marked out highlights exactly what Platini was pointing out.  Same happened in the World Cup.   Please put things in perspective.  Is Benzema the best striker in Europe?  These questions are questions that pop up immediately out of context....

Thierry Henry would've won it for the same reason, the English will say that C. Ronaldo would've won it....HOWEVER, LESS OUR MEMORY GROW SHORT....Zidane was the reason for France's success.  Henry leading a team without Zidane struggled.  Arsenal getting to the Champions League final was the very first time they made it past the Quarter finals stage.  There is nothing about jealousy on the EPL, it is anoyance at scant disregard for other people's skills and talent, arrogance and ignorance(in the real sense of the word, not insult).  Not since 1966, have England won a major footballing trophy.  The majority of World Cup winners didn't not play in England's EPL.  People around the world find it hard to trust or like the Europeans, much less the British who is seen at the head of the problem, not that the US is left blameless.  World War I, World War II.....fuelled by European arragance and invasions.  Open your eyes, people have ligitimate reasons for their dislike....you wouldn't like your neighbours if they came into your house and brought you by force to work for their profit....it's all political!
