Well I have PES 2008 - and unfortunately it turned out to be hugely disappointing;  Konami screwed the Game Play, and the Edit Mode was also screwed up, etc, etc.. PES 2008 is more similar to FIFA than the good OLD PES.

The most FIFA like feature of PES08 - is the fact that PACE is given exaggerated importance. There's just no way of defending against opponents with good pace -and viceversa- I can dribble just about anyone with a player with good pace (such as Thierry Henry). And we all now that pace is not that important in Real Football; look at Juan Roman Riquelme, Zinedine Zidane, Carlos Valderrama, Bobby Moore, Fernando Hierro, Roberto Ayala, the list keeps going.

PES 2008 feels like playing in the EPL - Everything depends on Pace, Direct Football and Long Balls. Of course this isn't what makes PES dissapointing - What makes PES so dissapointing is the fact that you have, you're obliged to play attacking-direct Football.. otherwise you'll just concede goal after goal. So in other words you don't (or can't) have the option of playing Tactical Football or Defensive Football - Why?? Simply because it's impossible to defend, litrerally a waste of time. And secondly because possession is as irrevelant as anything can be. The only option is to run run run, give lots of long balls, and score lots of unsatisfying goals.

The dribbling in PES 2008 is just as disgracefull as the one in FIFA 2008 - as a matter of fact, I've been a loyal PES fan for the last 4 years -but- this year I honestly don't know if PES is better than FIFA, and I think the question should be - Wich one is worse??
