    South American in The premiership!

History has proven that so little Braziliand and Argentienains have played in the EPL./...

the Epl was always the Place for Arab( i am thankful for that) the asians, african and europeans along with the Aussies...

    but barely brazilians...

but things have changeds i bielieve...

Gilberto Silva,Mascherano,Lucas levas,Denilson and others have started to make an impact in the EPL...

So have the EPL really changed and have the mangers decided that the only way to increase the Eurupean Championship and The EPl is to use such players..?

or is this just like the Wind that visits each League every Season?

I would certainly like to see your point of view on this?

    Regards,

    Soldier

Re: South American in The premiership!

Alot of south american have been playing in EPL. Although not so many high class South American players play here in EPL but millions people still watching it every weekend. And it has been the most famous and entertain league in the world in last decade.

If Kaka,Ronaldinho and Messi play in EPL I don't know what will happen to La liga and Serie A :) :):):)

Remember Serie A in the 80's?

yyeah but not the best south americans usually.  Tevez, Elano, Mascherano & gilberto are perhaps the best.  The main reasons south americans will hardly flock to England is because of the weather and food: remember why Crespo left, he never failed, but he just never felt at home.  The other reason i think has to do with language, in spain and italy, those countries have closer ties with south america as alot of south americans speak spanish, portuguese etc while some have roots in europe as you see some of them with Italian and other EU passports.

Of course not!  Brazilians went to Germany, Holland, France and so if they didn't find space in Spain and Italy.  What changed is the managers and owners, so philosophies changed...that's one reason.

As a matter of fact, people questioned why Tevez and mascherano went in the first place given that many teams wanted them...

Re: South American in The premiership!

i like having south americans in the league, but ones who work hard like tevez, gilberto & mascherano, i don't think many of them have the right attitude to come here, some players want sun, sea & sand which is why they fail when they come.

i agree about crespo, he always seemed to score here, he was great.

i think crespo's problem was he didn't want to come here in the first place and he let money decide for him.

i'd like to see more south americans but definitley not in midfield where it is 2 physical for them in england.

right backs, left backs & strikers can survive, apart from that its a big gamble.

Re: South American in The premiership!

Another South American to join the Premiership recently was Anderson. So far as I can tell, Anderson, as well as Mascherano, Elano, Tevez, etc. has done just as well. He's really working well at United filling in for Scholes for the time being.

Re: South American in The premiership!

The weather, food and life style in England are very very different to that of South American countrys as well as Spain, Italy and Portugal.  This is the main reason they choose not to come to the EPL.  They feel a kinship with the medeterainian clubs, who have a history of South American players like Maradona, Romario, Batisuta, Rivaldo etc

Its just an easy transition and more appealing to live in Spain or Italy than say, Mersyside, Manchester or essex.  We have started getting some great South American players coming into the EPL Tevez, Mascherano, Anderson, Lucas, Gilberto, Alex, Denilison, Beletti and they are doing well.  its a case of culture.

And its been picked up by Ryan Giggs,
Yorke has made a diagnal run,
    Theirs support in the centre,
    but hes past Keown...
    past Dixon...
