Re: EA SPORTS - FIFA 08

mate, 05 was shite, total shite. 06 was the better one of course.

Anyways, to answer some of the critics here, you can pass the ball into open space. That is one of the new features in the game. You can direct the through however you want to. The direction and weight on the ball is up to you. I REALLY dont understand that complaint.

I think the game is pretty good. Very hard at World Class level, wich makes it fun. I actually almost scream when i score a goal. And i scream when i miss opportunities, but thats football. Football isnt scoring 5 goals every bloody game.

After reading what you said I was thinking of buying it. However, I searched through the FIFA08 official website and there are a lot of complains - Everyone's complaining about the AI (so it's not only you), most people feel like they were ripped off because they do not see the AI working..

Another popular complain, is the computer's stamina - a lot of people have stated that your players get tyred easily, while the computer player manage to keep sprinting up and down the pitch with 0 stamina left.

And as for the player ratings - FIFA08 rating are pretty f-u-c-k-e-d up.. I mean, Ronaldo with 84 is reasonable because Ronaldo is not that good at´passing, crossing, free-kicks, and other things, yes he's great at dribbling and at shooting and I'm pretty sure he haves very good Dribbling and shooting skills. Kaká's 90 is actually a very good and accurate rating in my opinion. On the other hand, Rooney with a 90?? Ronaldinho with an 91?? Ronaldinho's 91 rating actually annoyed me, becasue Ronaldinho is not close to 91, at least not in his recent form - His pace has gone down drammaticaly, I would rate Dinho with an 87. Gilardino's 85 is ridiculous!! FIFA hugely overrates his cover boys (Ronaldinho, Rooney), I'm sure that had Kaká been on the cover he would have like a 94..

And as for Riquelme, he should have the same 88 as in 07.. I mean, Riquelme is not even in his peak yet.

I still think I'm going to buy it, because Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 won't be out (it is already out in England, but wont reach the US for the nest 4 months) for the next 4 months.. However I suggest you buy Pro Evo Soccer 2008 when you have the chance drucurl - the best soccer game out there, great reviews, and Konami accomplished exactly what I wanted from them - PES's great 'game play' with FIFA's great 'graphics'. FIFA is going to get runned over by Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, gameplay and graphics - no one can beat that, a clear winner over FIFA (by the way, the PES08 with great graphics is the version for PS3 or XBOX360). Nevertheless, I will have to be satisfied with FIFA for the next 4 months.

On a completely different topic.. Drucurl AC Milan needs a change in the starting eleven. And I think Andrea Pirlo's the problem, in my honest opinion AC Milan would do better if they replaced Pirlo with Riquelme, and after doing this signing a world class striker. Andrea Pirlo is just too plain, he doesn't dribbles his way through the pitch, he's not offensive enough!! On the other hand, Riquelme is not very fast, but he can certainly dribble his way through defenders and he's also very dangerous at shooting. I think Riquelme haves the offensive Andrea Pirlo's missing/lacking. And by the way, I know you'll disagree with me, but it's something I've been noticing about Milan's game.

Riquelme is on his peak .....please stop sucking up!!! He is 29  His peak might be sustained till about 32 and his standard would go down...less quickly than the others because he NEVER had pace to begin with and hence never relied on it.

I think the skill ratings are $H!T!!!  Ronaldo IS a good passer crosser and free kick taker......watch the game before you spew such nonesense. Rooney's 90 is disgraceful.....he's still a kid and has NEVER crossed 20 goals in ANY season.....Hell Messi has more ability and his ratings are waay lower

If I had to rate them (the top attacking players):

    Ronaldo 87

    Rooney 86

    Gila 80

    Messi 90

    Ronaldinho 90

    CR7 91

    Kaka 92

    Eto'o 89

    Henry 89

    Riquelme 88

    Torres 88

    Aguero 89

    Seedorf 86

    Totti 88

    Pirlo 86

I also agree that Riquelme is better than Pirlo......I think that Italians waaaay overrate their players like Gila who is total garbage!

Personally I'd rather Pirlo because he isn't a troublemaker, but we are in desperate times and Riquelme's skill is unquestionable......Pirlo is magical for sure but Riquelme is a wizard with creation.

how can aguero get 89 and Rooney 87 if your argument is that Rooney hasnt scored 20 goal in one season yet. (fyi, he did last year scored 23 goals). Aguero hasnt scored 20 in european top flight yet, and wasnt even close to it when the game was made. Rooney has all the skills a forward and midfielder could dream of tho. Powerful accurate finishing, creative lobs, curling shots. He can look for his striking partner as well as anyone. Has bundles of pace, never gives up on a play, is a good tackler, and a more than decent dribbler, has a great first touch aswell.

How dare FIFA rate him at all. BOOO!

    Seedorf at 86???

If Pirlo and Seedorf are at 86, kaka is at 92, why is Milan sitting 10th in serie a?? Them fanboys never made much sense to me.
