    STYLES DROPPED AFTER ANFIELD BLUNDER
    STYLES DROPPED AFTER ANFIELD BLUNDER
    Paul Eaton 20 August 2007
Rob Styles has been dropped from next weekend's Barclays Premier League refereeing list after his penalty blunder at Anfield on Sunday.
Styles has admitted he made an error in awarding Chelsea a second half penalty which allowed them to draw level after Fernando Torres had given Liverpool the lead.

Referees chief Keith Hackett has now confirmed Styles will be given next weekend off following the fall out from the controversial decision.

"I spoke to Rob this morning and obviously he is extremely disappointed with the decision and admitted he got it wrong. I have left a message with Rafael Benitez to apologise," said Hackett.

"Having looked at a video and seen a better angle and a better view, clearly he (Styles) now recognises that he got it wrong and he's deeply apologetic for that. I think, in fact, he too will be making contact with Liverpool in order to offer his apologies."

Actually Styles is one of my  favorite refs in the league. Although he made a mistake, he had the balls to admit to it. The game of footy moves so quickly and the refs are bound to make mistakes.

Re: STYLES DROPPED AFTER ANFIELD BLUNDER

It was neither his mistake nor chelsea's mistake.

This's been happening for a pretty long time and this is the first time they have taken such a stern action. I don't understand the logic behind it. The refrees are also human beings and ought to make mistakes.

When the red Fergie said that the refree at the pompey game was wrong and made a few hard remards, the feckin FA kept its mouth shut and didn't have the balls to take any action. When the same thing is said by Jose, they will make hue and cry out of it.

Damn the FA for all these fuss ups.

The fact is you seem to forget a few things.

When ya god damn team gets a free-kick out of nowhere in the previous games and scores a winner, you start celebrating it. But when it backfires you in another game, you start whining like a bady girl...

    What a sore loser!

Re: STYLES DROPPED AFTER ANFIELD BLUNDER

First of all, start watching the games or try to read a few articles before you come to a conclusion about it.

The refree asked essien to move away from the place, but unfortunately had the card in his hand which was mistaken as a yellow card by the media commentators. When a guy is officiating a game in front of the bloody noisy kop crowds, he always tends to feel uneasy...

Re: STYLES DROPPED AFTER ANFIELD BLUNDER

its ironic that liverpool fans cry and moan when they get more dodgy calls than anybody, and the referee they paid won them the match after everton played them off the pitch
