Re: FIFA 08 - Your ideas and whishes for the next version of FIFA

Talking about Colombia.. I think FIFA should include Classic Colombia in the game; Carlos Valderrama, Freddy Rincón, and co... I also think the same about other Classic Teams, like; Classic Brazil with Pelé, Garrincha, etc...

It would be cool.. if EA included awards, like; "World Player of the Year", "European Player of The Year", "South American Player of The Year", etc..

And mainly I would like at least; twice as much skills as in FIFA07, as the skills of FIFA07 are too few... below the basics.. an example of this, is that FIFA as never had a first touch skill.. and as we know every player haves a different first touch, like; D.Bergkamp, the best first touch ever.. However in FIFA07 everybody haves the same exact first touch.. *This is only one example of many I can find.. FIFA needs to improve a lot more, as they are going too slowly.. almost the same exact game since FIFA 2005.. they (EA Sports) should repay the customers they still have, with a good game, and not a mediocre game with good graphics like FIFA07 (too easy.. all my games ended up with 6-0 or 8-0 victories, and this is in world class mode!!.. how is that?, and I would like it very much if Ronaldinho or Kaka or C.Ronaldo posed at least a little threat to my defence.. I mean Ronaldinho is a joke in this game, I don't even notice when I'm playing against him..).. EA Sports should also stop ripping of their customers with games like; The Champions League, I mean why don't they add. The Champions League to FIFA 08 , why? because they want to make more money$$$... Instead of adding so much Leagues, without meaning to offend anybody, all of those Leagues are ridiculously excessive; the only Leagues people really care about, and want to see, are; La Liga, The EPL, Serie A, Bundesliga, Portuguese, The Dutch League, and a couple of others world teams, like; Boca Juniors (they should add. the Argentine League, as this League is of good quality..), River Plate, etc... However they (EA Sports) should really stop wasting space and memory in the game, with all those excessive Leagues that in the end you don't even whant to play in, or get to play in.. for ex. outside of the Spanish La Liga, the English EPL, and the Italian Serie A, I didn't get to play in any other League.. for many different reasons.. mainly because I didn't haved the time to play it that much.. So I think EA Sports should stop adding excessive Leagues, and instead use those spaces to add. more interesting things, like; Classic Teams; Classic Real Madrid (with Di Stéfano, Puskas, and co..), Classic Man. Utd. (with Classics George Best, Bobby Charlton, etc..), Classic Italy (with Roberto Baggio, Franco Baresi, Paolo Maldini, etc..), Classic Argentina (with legendary Diego Armando Maradona, who by the way isn't included in FIFA07's Classic Team?? Why?? I don't really know..), Classic France (with Michel Platini and co..), Classic Germany (with Franz Beckenbauer, G.Müller, etc..), Classic Brazil (with world great Pelé, Nilton Santos, Garrincha, Carlos Alberto, etc..), Classic 2000's Brazil (with Ronaldo, Rivaldo, R.Carlos, Cafu, etc..), and many other great great teams through-out football's history.. I'm sure most of us "customers" would apreciate that more than the Chilean League, or the Korean League, or whatever.. Finally, EA Sport's FIFA is the best soccer game when talking about great graphics.. However when "game-play's" the matter, Winning Eleven (or Pro-Evolution Soccer) is far ahead of FIFA.. they just need FIFA's graphics.. as if they (Konami) accomplish that; the competition between FIFA and Winning Eleven would be over.. And as for what I expect from FIFA 2008; I've been dissapointed by FIFA too many times already, so I'm not expecting much.. So I'm not looking forward to buying it.. FIFA haved lost another loyal customer, to Konami's Winning Eleven.. In fact I'm eagerly waiting for that "other brand" that will take soccer simulation to another level, to the next level, the people that will take it up a notch.. The people that unlike EA Sports; will have "real" love for "real football".. the ones that will put heart and authenticity before anything else to their work.. what company will do it?, I don't know... I've no idea.. I just hope they make it soon, because current football/soccer games are very far from the reality of the sport, are mediocre, and are very very boring to play.. Very unlike real football...

Re: FIFA 08 - Your ideas and whishes for the next version of FIFA

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I get bored and tired of the manager mode after just three or four seasons... It's too plain, and EA Sports has failed in including the exciting Tournaments, like; The UEFA Champions League, or The UEFA Cup, or The FIFA World Cup.. This are the tournaments people really want to see.. But no-one really thinks it's a possibility because as we all know; EA Sports main priority is the "money$$$", not their customers.. they prefer to make three different games, like; The UEFA Champions League Game, The FIFA World Cup Game, and The so called FIFA Games.. They are very good at ripping off their "customers", as we always go back for more.. it's pathetic; "we" make them rich and they still/always come up with the same exact game-play, it's getting really dissapointing.. Anyways, adding The Champions League, The UEFA Cup, and The World Cup would improve the Manager Mode greatly.. As at least I would feel more motivated when playing in manager mode, why? because with "those" three Tournaments I got something to look forward to, instead of always playing in the same crappy tournaments of FIFA07.. At least with The World Cup I can look forward to playing in it every four seasons, and I get to play in the qualifiers.. or with The Champions League, wich by the way I don't understand how EA failed to include in FIFA07 and in FIFA08.. The Champions League is Europe's strongest and most important competition.. So I would look forward to playing in two of The most important tournaments in the world of football, instead of playing in the same lame competitions of FIFA07.. That would make a fun manager mode, but EA Sports would not dare to do it; there's no doubt they can do it, the thing is they don't want to do it.. because it would mean less money for them.. Lastly, they (EA Sports) should know; the title of their soccer game is "FIFA", so why in the hell is "The FIFA World Cup" not included.. there's really no excuse for it.. and I hope some of the EA Sports makers get to read this, so one of them can please explain to me ¿why?, with all the graphics, with all the licenses.. is FIFA so LAME..

This game is really hard!!! I mean you have to be thinking CONSTANTLY!!!!  This loses some of the "fun" and "feel good" appeal. it's almost impossible to shoot from outside and  player switching is now different.

I HATE HOW THEY flipped the L1 and L2 buttons.....so now at the top of the bos I now chip rather than place a shot (till I'm accustomed to it that is)

Other than that this is an excellent game and is designed for intelligant players.

Now I'm interested.. It sounds like FIFA08 is actually good.. FIFA07 was a joke too easy; 6-0 victories, 8-0 victories.. Football requires a lot of thinking!! and I've not played FIFA08 - But if it's really hard and requires constant thinking, I'm buying it. Becasue it sounds like ' real football ' .

The L1 button is much better in my opinion.. Anyways, I hope I'm not dissapointed again by EA's Sports FIFA.

I don't know what to make of the AI......sometimes the players refuse to make obvious  runs which is pretty annoying....othertimes they make GREAT runs all on their own....I guess it simulates real conditions quite well if you think about it.

The ratings have pissed me off the most. CR7 and Ronaldinho get 91 while Kaka gets 90 and Messi gets 87. Even WORSE  ROONEY gets 90 but Eto'o gets 88 and Ronaldo gets 84!!!!! That's pretty messed up!!! also Seedorf gets 78 WTF!!! Gila gets 85 like Gila even deserves the '5' in that rating.

Entusiasta, what's Riquelme's rating? in 07 he got 88 ...I'm sure they kicked down his stats too in favour of some EPL troll

After reading what you said I was thinking of buying it. However, I searched through the FIFA08 official website and there are a lot of complains - Everyone's complaining about the AI (so it's not only you), most people feel like they were ripped off because they do not see the AI working..

Another popular complain, is the computer's stamina - a lot of people have stated that your players get tyred easily, while the computer player manage to keep sprinting up and down the pitch with 0 stamina left.

And as for the player ratings - FIFA08 rating are pretty f-u-c-k-e-d up.. I mean, Ronaldo with 84 is reasonable because Ronaldo is not that good at´passing, crossing, free-kicks, and other things, yes he's great at dribbling and at shooting and I'm pretty sure he haves very good Dribbling and shooting skills. Kaká's 90 is actually a very good and accurate rating in my opinion. On the other hand, Rooney with a 90?? Ronaldinho with an 91?? Ronaldinho's 91 rating actually annoyed me, becasue Ronaldinho is not close to 91, at least not in his recent form - His pace has gone down drammaticaly, I would rate Dinho with an 87. Gilardino's 85 is ridiculous!! FIFA hugely overrates his cover boys (Ronaldinho, Rooney), I'm sure that had Kaká been on the cover he would have like a 94..

And as for Riquelme, he should have the same 88 as in 07.. I mean, Riquelme is not even in his peak yet.

I still think I'm going to buy it, because Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 won't be out (it is already out in England, but wont reach the US for the nest 4 months) for the next 4 months.. However I suggest you buy Pro Evo Soccer 2008 when you have the chance drucurl - the best soccer game out there, great reviews, and Konami accomplished exactly what I wanted from them - PES's great 'game play' with FIFA's great 'graphics'. FIFA is going to get runned over by Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, gameplay and graphics - no one can beat that, a clear winner over FIFA (by the way, the PES08 with great graphics is the version for PS3 or XBOX360). Nevertheless, I will have to be satisfied with FIFA for the next 4 months.

On a completely different topic.. Drucurl AC Milan needs a change in the starting eleven. And I think Andrea Pirlo's the problem, in my honest opinion AC Milan would do better if they replaced Pirlo with Riquelme, and after doing this signing a world class striker. Andrea Pirlo is just too plain, he doesn't dribbles his way through the pitch, he's not offensive enough!! On the other hand, Riquelme is not very fast, but he can certainly dribble his way through defenders and he's also very dangerous at shooting. I think Riquelme haves the offensive Andrea Pirlo's missing/lacking. And by the way, I know you'll disagree with me, but it's something I've been noticing about Milan's game.

Riquelme is on his peak .....please stop sucking up!!! He is 29  His peak might be sustained till about 32 and his standard would go down...less quickly than the others because he NEVER had pace to begin with and hence never relied on it.

I think the skill ratings are $H!T!!!  Ronaldo IS a good passer crosser and free kick taker......watch the game before you spew such nonesense. Rooney's 90 is disgraceful.....he's still a kid and has NEVER crossed 20 goals in ANY season.....Hell Messi has more ability and his ratings are waay lower

If I had to rate them (the top attacking players):

    Ronaldo 87

    Rooney 86

    Gila 80

    Messi 90

    Ronaldinho 90

    CR7 91

    Kaka 92

    Eto'o 89

    Henry 89

    Riquelme 88

    Torres 88

    Aguero 89

    Seedorf 86

    Totti 88

    Pirlo 86

I also agree that Riquelme is better than Pirlo......I think that Italians waaaay overrate their players like Gila who is total garbage!

Personally I'd rather Pirlo because he isn't a troublemaker, but we are in desperate times and Riquelme's skill is unquestionable......Pirlo is magical for sure but Riquelme is a wizard with creation.

Re: EA SPORTS - FIFA 08

Just how I expected - FIFA ripped me off 'again' with a ridiculous football simulation. Better than FIFA07 - but like all FIFA's this is not football, it is mediocre, slow, unrealistic, and the dribbling oh the dribbling - how ridiculous is the dribbling - I have to practically anticipate what the opponent is going to do, and after that I have to push the 'L2' button in order to dribble - I mean, dribbling is something natural, it doesn't takes much time to perform a dribble and FIFA just made dribbling a boring ineffective option instead of the instinctive-nessesary-effective-entertaining art that dribbling really is.

And the graphics were also kind of dissapointing, I mean the players look retarded - the physique looks abnormal; unbealiveably short short legs, very broad shoulders, a weird looking chest, and too big - take a look at Ruud Van Nistelrooy and others. Some faces look fine, but the closer I see them the worst they look. Winning Eleven's or PES's latest simulation haves better graphics and far better game-play. Some of the worst looking players I've seen in FIFA include Henrik Larsson, Rivaldo, Sergio Aguero, Fernando Torres, Van Persie, Ronaldo, Pippo Inzaghi, Luis Figo, and many others I'm forgetting.

Some very basic skills FIFA still hasen't covered - Shielding; This skill would fix the impossible tackles that 'somehow' make it past a player's body, it is a basical skill to protect the ball, and in FIFA08 there's no such thing as ball-protection or shielding-the-ball. FIFA also misses basic passing skills - particularly passing into space when the situation calls for it.

And I hope FIFA and PES both create different styles of dribbling - at least 10 different styles of on-the-ball-dribbling-skills - this would make a huge difference as players like Riquelme and Lampard or Cristiano Ronaldo and Rooney would not only look different but also have different - tricks, footwork, movements, upper-body-movements and dribbling moves. I believe different styles of dribbling is a must for any next-generation-football-game.

And as for FIFA - I've had it with FIFA, they are ripping people off and this is definitely the last time I'm getting fooled by EA Sports. Next year I'll wait patiently for Konami's PES - the best football simulatiuon out there, and in my opinion it's still far from reality, football games could be much much better. Anyways, I would suggest to all you FIFA-Players to replace FIFA with PES, PES is a much better football game, it always had far better game-play and this year PES made a breakthrough with the graphics .

    PES= Graphics and Game-Play.

FIFA= Graphics? (retarded looking players) and RPG style Game-Play.

-I wouldn't say FIFA08 is a game for inteligent players, as a fair gamer the only thing I can say is that it is a mediocre game for mediocre gamers who do not know what real football's about. A very weak effort by EA Sports.
