I thought UEFA or and Fifa had something about persons owning shares from teams playing in European competition.  Isn't there a restriction against having shares or owning more than one club in European competitions.

I think those things leak out from some kinda truth, but mostly the exposure of it messes up their plans.  It's like if a big club wants to buy a player then they hope to do it discretely like Manchester United with Nani and Anderson, but then it leaks out and forces them to pay extra because it puts other  clubs on alert who may also enter bidding and drive up the players' values.
