i know, they also escaped that game when they got six bookings without being charged by the FA since terry's two yellows counted for one. they just seem to keep escaping every disciplinary measure.

Have you guy's heard that Jose Mourinho now gets a private meeting with the chief of the referees about the match with Tottenham?  I don't see how this cannot be seen as helping Chelsea.  So not only does United have to win all there matches we have to hope we get a few calls along the way.  The FA is unbelievable!!

Finally, it was a win. You could argue it was a scrappy win, but no one in their right mind could ask for 2 matches in 3 days....

    Re: Re: Re: Chelsea

by the way!  all managers were invited to have conversations with the referees throughout the season.

Excuse me though villainkrishma, Most everyone who play in the Champions league or plays cup trophies domestically etc have to play at some point 2 or 3 games in a short space of time.

you play your league game Sunday, you play wednesday - you play your league games Saturday you play tuesday - in the champions league all over Europe!  You have the copa del rey, italian cup, fa cup, carling cup etc in midweek, you still play your normal weekend games!

This is something clubs and Managers agree to before the season starts - so there's no excuses! Chelsea had a scrappy draw vs Arsenal as well, they play scrappy football alot!

    Re: Re: Re: Chelsea
All the top managers in the EPL gripe about the fixtures and that is nothing new, this has gone on for years and years.  But with Chelsea not playing there best football it shouldn't be a problem according to the mighty John Terry.  I will say one thing and that is Chelsea should be very worried if anything happens to Drogba injury wise because he is the only one scoring goals these days.

    Re: Re: Re: Chelsea

That's true to all the clubs, of course. But the its effect on the teams differs according to where they stand in the table. A team like spurs also play 3 times in a week, but the opposition who would be playing against them wouldn't come hardest at them in all the three games. They usually wouldn't rate the spurs to the maximum, so will come with the modest preparation.

But the perspective of the champions differs. Every team knows that they are gonna play against the champions, a win against them will be counted with utmost satisfaction by all its fans, and so come out with best preparation. They know that a win against Chelsea, in particular, would be considered the sweetest by the fans, hailed as a true victory by all the critics. They could stay relaxed for another 3-4 matches without much worries. Take the case of Middlesborough, after they won the game against chelsea. So it's different way of looking at the league, when you are the champions.

The perspective should always be the same, train and prepare for the match like it's a final because when your club is playing against the lower table clubs those can be some of the trickiest games out there.  Take Chelsea who just played Newcastle.  Jose thought it was going to be a walk in the park but Newcastle game them a game and Chelsea only squeaked by 1-0.  If United aren't careful against West Ham they could drop points.  No matter what the fixtures affect every club.  It is what it is.

    Re: Re: Re: Chelsea

yes i know there's more motivation playing against champions...that's normal!  I support Barcelona, so i see the difference.  However, that's why Champions are champions, because they get pass that... that's why it's harder to repeat than maybe win it for the first time.  The complaining comes more from people like Mourinho and Arsene Wenger, sometimes their complaining is excessive.

Bare in mind though, I hope neither Man United nor Chelsea wins the EPL  this season - lol Big Smile [:D]

    Re: Re: Re: Chelsea

No one can compete with the crooked Russian, that's why UEFA are building a case against Chelsea to stop the ridiculous spending because they know in years to come that Chelsea will ruin football for good.  How does it feel to be a fan for the most hated and disrespected club in the world?  You'll probably say great but that's expected from Chelsea fans.

On the field i don't remember you beating us this season but maybe you can remind me of a dream you had one night about being in first.

    Re: Re: Re: Chelsea

Now I'm a long time football fan, many of you, because of Chelsea's emergence, have forgotten that they are fans that do no like Man United - not too long ago, Alex Ferguson was arrogant, maybe not like Moureeninho, and was talking/feuding all over the place about Arsene Wenger, but I REMEMBER!  All that happened was that Chelsea came to town!

And so that along with other reasons, I would rather Bolton, Tottenham etc win the EPL, it would be great for England if a Palermo from italy type team won the EPL.  Since, fair, good and quality football would've beaten teams, while with Man United & Chelsea - it's just money, lesser extent Arsenal, but they too.

Who cares about Liverpool, their football looks ugly and too much importance is placed on Gerrard...ha ha ha!

Barcelona Fan, the rivalry starts here!

the difference is that manchester earned their financial advantage the old fashionned way. With success brought by a great managers and an incridibly successful youth academy. If you look at utd's two big decades of dominance (the 60's and 93-03) they were triggered with great youths coming through the ranks (busby babes, fergies fledgings) a great scottish manager Stick out tongue [:P] (Sir Matt busby and Sir Alex Ferguson), and just a few well made transfers, usually on the cheap, a la cantona, steve bruce, Denis Irwin, etc, etc. And our managers didnt come from champions of europe either. SAF had a good spell at Aberdeen, but was still very much unproven at the higher stages. And it was Matt Busby's first venture into managing at MUFC.

How dare you compare that to what happened to Chelsea?? We "earned" the right to trash talk. After the dominance we had in the 90's we finally had a "rival" and it was good for the premiership. What Mourinho is doing is blasting the FA and every team he faces, look at his comment on Andy Johnson... And how has he earned that? By signing one or two big players with unlimited funds in two years? The team was almost complete when Ranieri left. He had unlimited funds. Sure he's a good coach. But he's been in the epl 2 years, and he's trash talked since day one. The first trash talking fergie did was against Keegan in 93-94 i think, and he had already been with utd for 7-8 years...

Do you see the difference now. I know MUFC and CFC look similar on the surface, but please dig deeper before comparing Red flaming devils with meager old and slow lions boosted with russian steroids.

    Re: Re: Re: Chelsea

I agree 100%.  Comparing Manchester United to Chelsea is just as bad as comparing John Terry to Paolo Maldini, it's just not right.  In terms of history, trophies, fan base, managers and overall players, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Arsenal walk with this one unchallenged.

Gregory; You are absolutley correct when you say Sir Alex is arrogant, name me a manager who isn't.  Also, you said it yourself, Sir Alex was always attacking Wenger.  If anyone follows the EPL just slightly they will know that there is a fierce rivalry between both managers and clubs but a respect that lies there also.  Jose Mourinho's new thing is to attack everyone and everyone and it doesn't matter if that is ripping a player when he is in the wrong, insulting referee's beyond what is even considered rational or normal and he shows no remorse because he's an idiot.  Chelsea are an entity all by themselves and they are a plague that has been draped over the entire world of football.
