Ac Milan won't buy spanish and i wouldn't either for Milan's style and team composition.  As a matter of fact, last spaniard to go to Italy failed , so it would be more of a gamble than let's say fabregas going to the EPL  so young.

Zambrotta can give Milan in particular 3 good years and that's all they need to find another replacement.  Let's face it, Gilardino will never give Milan the 30 goals they are looking for from a striker against the teams they need him to do so.  At Parma and so on, maybe he'll give them 30 goals, but at Milan there's no room for maybe he'll come good or maybe not...it is either do or die.  Amauri would be great, but i want him at Barca and for Brazil so...lol....wouldn't wish for it.

Defense doesn't matter so much as there are plenty Italian defenders who can emerge as Milan calibre.  However, grudgingly i'd agree keeping Gilardino.  He's good utility on the bench and adds depth to a team like that.

Podolski is just perhaps a little better than Gilardino, I wouldn't go through so much trouble for Podolski if I can just keep Gilardino.

I really don't see great problems with Milan's squad other than they need to at least try to win the Scudetto rather than be content with 4th place or 3rd.  I saw them actually put some effort in when Juventus ran away with the spoon, but they still left it out when they realised that they could've won the Champions League and didn't concentrate too much towards the end somewhere along there.

I would stick to my two year policy with a minor changes, but ultimately keep most of the starting squad, maybe relegate Gilardino and fight tooth and nail to bring in Amauri this summer, but I want him at Barcelona.  He would be great alongside Samuel Eto'o, so that Barcelona can put Henry etc on the bench for some rest.

Muah, muah...the resergence of Barca in the making:  Eto'o, Amauri, Messi, Ronaldinho, Iniesta, Toure, Daniel Alves, Milito, Puyol, Abidal, Valdez ~ goals galore!  Striker fear in opponents again....

pretty much looks the same apart from amauri and alves....so no fear gregory. A 2 season plan looks about right. i think ac are also interested in cassano.

Amauri and Gilardino is not a fair swap, so maybe Gilardino + 20 million = Amauri.

Oh it is a different team i assure, you because Henry, Hleb, Xavi, Marquez, Krkic, Dos Santos etc makes for a far better bench than having them start most of the games.  That way, Henry can give you 20 goals, Krkic 15 goals, Hleb 10 goals, Marquez 5 goals, Amauri and Eto'o 25 goals, Ronaldinho and Messi 15 - 20 goals .....muah muah goals galore...the fear will come when it's 3-0 in the Bernabeu
