adriano to man city? any truth to this???

There's absolutely no truth to that rumour, Sven Goran Eriksson dismissed it himself. Manchester City haves no interest towards Adriano. And honestly, who could blame them??

I think Manchester City / Sven Goran Eriksson should take a look at Blackburn's Pedersen, and at Real Madrid's Roberto Soldado.

bit harsh mate. adriano is a fine forward. just hasn't been all there the past few seasons.

...Adriano's Dad Died that was one reason for his lack of "playing good"..

In addition, i would blame manicini becuase he always prefered Cruz,CrespSauzo on Adri and the last time Adri came in the Game he scored the Winner..

I don't think I'm being harsh with Adriano. I mean, his dad died and that is always going to be traumatic, but it's been 3 years now. 3 years of under-performing, I don't think even Ronaldinho can pull that off. And look at Riquelme, after less than half-a-season of under-performing, Pellegrini decided to discard him completely!! At least Adriano was given 2nd chances, at least Adriano is still considered. But in my honest opinion, Adriano as taken too long to come back, he's been under-performing for 3 years now and it is very clear everytime he plays. Adriano was also a flop at the 2006 World Cup, and I think Adriano haves a lot to prove before being considered by other teams.

Adriano was a fine forward, that was 3 or more years ago. But now, in actuality, there are many better forwards than Adriano, Julio Cruz is better, Suazo is better, and so on.. Maybe a change can serve Adriano well, but one thing is certain - Inter has treated Adriano like a king.

Adriano isn't bad, i mean he's not exactly my favourite, but I would still use him at Barcelona because i find him quite useful.  What Mancini is doing is mainly showing off because he has Zlatan, Cruz, Crespo & Suazo all available, so he can afford to do what he likes with Adriano.  Adriano should take the hint and find a club!  Call Ronaldinho and ask him to put in a word for him with Laporta and Rijkaard at Barcelona.  I mean after all they won a Copa America together.

I would definetely count my losses if i were Adriano and find a club while big clubs are still willing to give him a place in their squads.

However, this is exactly the reason why i telll Teee & Entusiasta that these players need to realise how fortunate they are to be able to  play professional football and make the right decisions.

mancini aint thinkin about the future. why dus he still use cruz and crespo. they do score, but they are gettin old. we need to get adriano starting matches with ibra. that could be the most scary pair of forwards in the world. and if mancini wanted to play with 3 forwards then suazo can play!

Re: F.C. INTERNAZIONALE MILANO OFFICIAL THREAD

Just out of curiosity, as Cristian Chivu ever played as a Defensive Midfielder?? If so, is he a good Def. Mid.? I have never seen Chivu playing as a Defensive Midfielder, but I'm certain he haves everything to be a world class defensive midfielder. Chivu is a very complete player, and I think he could make a formidable defensive midfielder partnership along-side Cambiasso.

Anyways, I don't think Adriano is a player for the future, he's almost 26 years old, and he's unfit and depresed. I think Mancini/Inter should look at players like Atletico Madrid's Sergio 'el Kun' Aguero (age 19), or Real Madrid's Roberto Soldado (age 22). This young lads display world class everytime they play, this would be great signings for the future. But I agree with you/foxhound, Inter should have at least one player for the future, yes they have Zlatan Ibrahimovic who haves a lot of years to go.. but a big-world-class-youngster signing like Sergio Aguero, or Roberto Soldado, or Leo Messi, or Giovani Dos Santos, or Sebastian Giovinco, etc.. would come good for Inter, it would show that Inter is thinking about the future, about maintaining their succes.

I hope the Riquelme rumour concretes this time, Inter really needs a player like him. Imagine Ibrahimovic and Riquelme doing one-two's, and Suazo's speed would be deadly if combined with Riquelme's deadly passes. It would be a pleasure to watch. Hopefully it'll happen, although past experiences tell me is not going to happen.

i certainly hope not. thats my resoponse. if we lose adriano for gilberto silva, a dm that we have a million of! we have dacourt, viera, cambiasso, j.zanetti may play there aswell. no, no, no. i want to see adriano go 2 a smaller club on loan. get his match fitness up and score heaps of goals. come back to inter rejuvenated and inter will be more powerful.
but i know adriano wont go on loan. when we get the chance to sell him, he will go...unfortunately...

Gilberto Silva and Viera are two great defensive midfielders....

Viera is always in injury..So inter need G.SIlva...

I think it will happen if Adri COmes but if Adri doesnt come to Arsenal Gilberto Silva is Staying

I agree with you/The Soldier on this - Patrick Vieira is always injured. I think that Patrick Vieira is doen, finished, washed up. He's 31 years old, and is already showng the signs of age. I think age is relative in Football, and what I mean by this is that players like Carlos Valderrama, Zinedine Zidane, Juan Roman Riquelme, Luis Figo, etc.. keep performing at a the highest level well into their 35s. But most physical players like Patrick Vieira, players who run from 'box-to-box' and who rely a lot on their physical presence start declining earlier than most, like Patrick Vierira - 31 years old, still not-that-old, but he's already getting injured all the time, he no longer haves the ability of running up and down the pitch without getting injured.

There's always going to be an exception of course, like Juventus's Pavel Nedved, but players with Nedved's or Paolo Maldini's endurance are very few. So, I agree with The Soldier, maybe Gilberto Silva is a convenient and good signing for Inter. As well as Riquelme, with Inter's starting-midfield injured, Dejan Stankovic, Luis Figo, Cambiasso, Patrick Vieira. Juan Roman Riquelme (just like G. Silva) would prove decisive for Inter, as well as convenient because either way, Luis Figo is retiring at the end of the season, and Inter needs a creative player like Figo.

I would take a chance with Cristian Chivu, I think he haves everything to be a great defensive midfielder.

Re: F.C. INTERNAZIONALE MILANO OFFICIAL THREAD

About all the theory's about Adriano's dropp in form, there's one I just heard that actually sounded reasonable and logical. It states, that Adriano has been using the excuse of the death of his father as a reason for his dramatic dropp in form, when in fact Adriano has noticeable dropped in form ever since Ibrahimovic joined Inter. So, this story states that Adriano was not used to fighting for a place in the starting-11, he was untouchable (just like Ronaldinho in Barcelona), and when he was challenged by Ibra to fight for his place - Adriano used the excuse of "My father died, so now I'm drinking and depressed.."

It is definitely harsh, because losing a family member is always going to be dramatic, but I don't think this story is far-off. As a matter of fact, I think that version is very accurate. Adriano's attitude was also questioned by his Argentine team-mate Sebastian Veron, who used to say that "if Adriano performed as much as he talks, he would be the world's best.." And I also think Adriano's attitude will stand in his way, plus Adriano is not 'that' talented. Adriano haves a very powerfull kick and he's also big, but honestly he was never that impressive. I think Adriano is easy to replace, and I don't know if Inter is going to loan him or sell him, but whatever happens to him is not revelant to Inter's interestes. I think Inter should loan him because he's not worth much right now, maybe if he re-discovers his old form at an average club, Inter could sell him for 30 million euros.

If Adriano isn't willing to fight for a place in the starting-11 of a team, he will never succed. He needs to grow up, emperor or not, he needs to prove he's worthy of a place in the starting-eleven. In my opinion Adriano is rather spoiled, I don't think any other team will give him as much opportunities as Inter has given him. He was used to being untouchable, he under-performed for 1 1/2 years before Ibra arrived, and unfortunately for him Ibrahimovic deserves his place in the starting-eleven (he's showing it on the pitch). Maybe Adriano deserves what's happening to him Football-wise.

lol ~ but Gilberto is a leader...not that i favour him much, but i guess he does what he has to do...

It seems pretty final that Riquelme is off to Boca Juniors though.  Adriano should leave as i said before though:  Staying at Inter Milan is a waste of time for him in particular, just like it would be a waste of time Riquelme staying at Villareal.  He should find a German club and settle down a bit...
