    Alltime best Italian soccer player

Ok ladies and germs which soccer player has left you with an impression over the years? Tell us where you would place him on the world stage. If in the op 10 or 20 or whatever.

Mine was Roberto Baggio and I would place him in the Top 10.

    1. Diego Maradona ( I'll never forget when he single handedly won 2 scudettos for Napoli )

    2. Pele ( Pele is Pele)

    3. Marco van Basten ( Possibly the best goal scorer I ever seen)

    4. Zinedine Zidane ( I had to try to forget the headbutt to put him in here)

    5. Ronaldinho ( This guy is still playing)

    6. Eusebio ( never saw him play but my dad told me he was great in the world cup)

    7. Roberto Baggio ( I don't know, the best half striker the game has ever seen)

    8. Romario (950 + goals and counting)

    9. Gianluigi Buffon ( Yashin would have probably be in his place but Buffon realy impressed me the last world cup and proved further that he truely is the best in the world)

10.Franco Baresi ( the best deffender to ever play the game)

Hmm Italians or all? It says Italians in the title so ..

Im gonna go with players ive been able to watch since ive been a fan or atleast managed to grasp how good they are ... so all those old old timers arent gonna get my vote.

    In no Order ..

    1. Roberto Baggio

    2. Gigi Buffon

    3. Paolo Maldini

    4. Franco Baresi

    5. Fabio Cannavaro

    6. Toto Schilachi

There are so many I could list here taht could be considered great in 5 or 6 years so I'll leave it at that .. Ive probablly forgot loads but These stand out as top class consistant performers in their positions.

Hey im sicilian .. Toto schillaci is god the end Stick out tongue [:P]

But seriously where they would rank i dont know .. its always hard when you have to take in different eras, the clubs these players got to play for and who surrounded them ... who you saw play more therfor got more of an idea how good they were etc etc  So I find it difficult to do any ranking .. My list would likely include all the quality players from Zoff to Van Basten like most peoples.

In my opinion we can't make this classification because we must select the goalkeepers, the defenders, the midfielders and the forwards...

    Goalkeepers:

    Jascin

    Buffon

    Zamora, Zoff....

    Defenders:

    Beckenbauer

    Baresi

    Scirea

    Moore

    Full-backs:

    Maldini

    Carlos Alberto

    Krol

    Roberto Carlos

    Midfielders:

    Rijkaard

    Matthaus

    Socrates

    Passarella

    Half-strikers:

    Maradona

    Platini

    Cruijff

    Baggio, Zidane, Zico, Ronaldinho, Kakà...

    Forwards:

    Pelè

    Eusebio

    Van Basten

Puskas, Ronaldo ('96-'98), Meazza, Gerd Muller

But it's difficult, some footballers played in the 80's, others in 90's, others in 60's....

Romario was alright... he came to play the montreal impact(usl three years running champs...what!) last year when he was with the miami club. But because he had a stinker he wouldnt sign any autograph for alot of fans who only came to see him. Was very dissapointed in him. Seems like he's only chasing the prospect of scoring 1,000 goals, however meaningless the goals he has to score to get there. Seriously people who rate him for his tally have got it all wrong. He was good, but no Pele for sure, not even Ronaldo or ronaldinho, or rivaldo for that matter.

I was at the game I didn't notice that. That's pretty sad if he did so. Anyway I still think he was pretty good.

he was ok by the usl standards, but i dont see what he really brings to a club besides marketable value increase.
