    Buffon makes Juve pledge
    Tuesday 30 January, 2007

Gianluigi Buffon has insisted that he is not interested in a move to Inter after underlining that his future is with Juventus.

The World Cup winner opted to stay with the Old Lady over the summer following their demotion to Serie B, but there are doubts over where he will be playing next season.

However, the No 1 has underlined that he is ready to snub a proposed offer from Inter as he is just focusing on his present club for now.

“I don’t think my future is with Inter, at the time being my future is only Bianconero,” said Buffon who received the goalkeeping award in the Oscar del Calcio ceremony last night.

“There has been a lot of transfer speculation lately, but I want to highlight the fact that we still haven’t won anything and we aren’t back in Serie A yet.

“That is why I don’t want to waste my words right now as there is nothing to say about this issue,” he added.

“I was pleased to see many old friends tonight, but I have never regretted the choice I made in the summer.”

Coach Didier Deschamps has again highlighted Buffon’s importance to the club – both from a technical and psychological point of view.

“I appreciated his words,” added Gigi. “He wanted to motivate me seeing as I was available again after missing the last two matches because of injury.

“We are going through a difficult moment and I really think that we must return to enjoying ourselves on the pitch,” added Buffon after Juve’s last two away games ended in a defeat at Mantova and a draw in Spezia.

“In any case, this isn’t a crisis. I am not worried and I am sure we will soon be able to express our best football again.

“Serie B matches are all very difficult. It’s up to us to find a way to overcome this phase of the season.”

Despite the club’s recent slump in form, they were crowned Winter Champions on Saturday and will now host Rimini at the Stadio Olimpico next.

This news, if true, is very good for Juve

He is the one player who would be key for next year, as Amelia seems bound to go elsewhere and Mirante needs still some time and experience

What do the others think of Pizarro for Juve (Bayern's pizarro)?

I think pizzaro is a good buy if Juve can get him.  He would add some creativity to the midfield as well as add depth to the ranks

it seems to be a trend for juve to run out of players in positions (midfield earlier this year and defence now).

    La Juve riscatta Bojinov?
    31 01 2007

    http://sport.alice.it/it/cmc/calcio/20075/cmc_105975.html

Basically it is saying the Juve may have changed their mind about Bojinov and now look likely to buy the remaining half owned by Fiorentina.
It is estimated that it will cost Juve about 5 million euro to do so.

What do you guys think of this news??

    Trez keeps Juve guessing
    Thursday 1 February, 2007

Juventus striker David Trezeguet says he will wait until June before making a final decision on his future.

The Frenchman has been heavily associated with a summer exit after underlining that he would only remain if the Old Lady can fight for major objectives next term.

But the former Monaco man has insisted he has other thoughts on his mind at this moment in time.

“Now we must concentrate on the championship,” said Trezeguet. “We have to secure our return to Serie A as soon as possible.

“Only after that we will sit down and discuss my future,” added the international, who is contracted to the Turin outfit until 2008.

“I recently spoke with general director Jean-Claude Blanc, sporting director Alessio Secco and boss Didier Deschamps, but I think that the most important thing now is to work hard to return to the First Division.

“Napoli are right behind us and the season isn’t over. After we secure promotion then we can discuss and evaluate what is best for all the parties involved. It takes two to decide.”

The striker wanted to leave the demoted giants during the summer, but was not allowed to move despite being the target of Real Madrid, Liverpool and French champions Lyon.

“I need to understand the club’s overall project,” added Trez. “It isn’t only about playing the Champions League.

“I need to know that Juventus will be strong and competitive, that they want to win immediately and have fun.”

Meanwhile, Deschamps reportedly had a small row with Trezeguet during Wednesday’s training session – even if the Coach has minimised the incident.

“I want the team to have the right attitude and these discussions are normal,” said the tactician to Juventus Channel.

“I like to hear the opinion of players, but it’s logical that I must point out mistakes during training. These things happen every day.”

Now that it seems Buffon and Camo are closer to remaining with us (assuming some conditions), the only one left it Trez

Capello not so Fab, says Tacchi
    Friday 2 February, 2007

Former Juventus midfielder Alessio Tacchinardi has blasted Real Madrid boss Fabio Capello. “I left Turin because of him,” he stated.

The 31-year-old join Villarreal on loan in 2005 from the Old Lady, a transfer which he would have never agreed to had it not been for the Pieris tactician’s presence at the club.

“I would have never left Juventus, not even after their demotion to Serie B,” said Tacchinardi in an interview to newspaper Libero.

“I was forced to leave town because of Capello. Instead, he was the first one to abandon the ship while it was sinking last summer,” he noted just days after Villarreal defeated Real in La Liga.

“Then when he was at Roma he publicly declared that he would never Coach Juventus…

“Capello’s tactics, which consist of scoring and then defending a lead, don't work in Spain any more.

“Real did not play well on Sunday against us and seeing a mad Capello was a double joy for me.

“I criticise him mainly for the way in which he treats his players. Now half of the Real Madrid squad are against him.”

Tacchinardi was also asked for his opinion on why the former Bianconeri duo of Fabio Cannavaro and Gianluca Zambrotta are failing to impress after their moves to Spain.

“In Italy, the defensive phase is studied more carefully in order for every player to always be in the right position,” he added.

“Here it’s more of a one-on-one situation, which concedes more space to the individual.

“Zambrotta does not always have a chance to play at Barcelona. Even if he is considered a star in Italy, Juliano Belletti is more suited to the Spanish game.”

    Juve ponder Toni option
    Friday 2 February, 2007

Juventus will target Fiorentina’s Luca Toni as a possible replacement for David Trezeguet should the Frenchman leave in the summer.

Trez confirmed on Thursday that he is unsure about his future and will only decide to commit himself or not to the Turin giants at the end of the season.

As a result, Juventus have started to look for alternatives to the former Monaco man and have eyed the Italian international.

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport reports that Juve’s market consultant Roberto Bettega met the Viola in order to understand the player’s intentions for next season.

Toni was paired with a move to Inter last summer, as the hitman was keen to play in the Champions League and compete for the Scudetto, but he eventually decided to stay after President Diego Della Valle blocked his transfer.

The World Cup winner, who joined Fiorentina from Palermo in a £7m deal in 2005, is currently valued at £14m.

However, the fact that the Bianconeri will not play in Europe next season might represent a problem for the former Vicenza star who is keen to appear on the big European stage.

Meanwhile, the Tuscan giants are monitoring the performances of Ajax ace Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

The Dutch international, who was his side’s top scorer during last summer’s U-21 European Championship success, is seen by many as an ideal replacement for Toni.

    Didier learned Rimini lesson
    Friday 2 February, 2007

Didier Deschamps believes the September draw at Rimini in their Serie B debut was needed to teach Juventus an important lesson.

The Bianconeri played their first ever Second Division game at the Romeo Neri Stadium and were held to a 1-1 draw, but the boss is convinced it was inspiring for his men.

“That afternoon we learned what was ahead of us. When the welcome party was over, we found ourselves face to face with a very motivated team,” said Deschamps in Friday’s Press Conference.

“That’s how it was at Rimini and it’s been like that in every match away from the Stadio Olimpico since then. We know it’s not easy to remain focused for an entire week, especially for those players who are used to fighting for different objectives,” added the tactician.

Juventus will host Rimini on Saturday, after last week’s disappointing 1-1 away at Spezia, and Deschamps is aware of the difficulties that the match might entail.

“Unfortunately we still have a crisis in our defensive department, it’s not easy when you’re forced to change your players every time.

“The match with Rimini will be no simple task, a win is what people will be expecting.”

The Bianconeri lead the table with 39 points ahead of Napoli and Bologna and the former Monaco boss is convinced that his men can earn automatic promotion if they continue the work done so far.

“The first half of the championship was positive for us, as we took 48 points from the 63 available and we have both the best attack and defence in the league.

“There are only two automatic promotion spots available and those behind us will certainly be wanting them us much as us. Some of the teams have also strengthened their squads over the transfer window, especially Genoa. Our aim is to keep up the good work,” concluded Deschamps.

Meanwhile, defender Robert Kovac is expected to be out for eight weeks after undergoing ankle surgery on Friday.

The former Bayern Munich player injured his right foot in the match with Cesena on January 16 and was operated in Munich by Professor Seebauer in the presence of one of the club’s doctors.

    Stampa inglese, Juve su Heinze
    04 02 2007

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

An english media source (so probably not the most trustworthy) has reported that Juventus are actively seeking to sign Gabriel Heinze from Manchester United in the summer.
It is reported he would cost Juve about 8 million euros, a sum juve may be willing to spend.
Deschamps has previously expressed his interest in the player, but there has also been some reported interest from AC Milan.

Juventus accept Stadio plan - Monday 5 February, 2007:

Juventus’ board of directors have given the green light to the latest redevelopment plans for the Stadio Delle Alpi.

Club officials met in Turin today where they analysed a project which would revolutionise the currently unloved arena into a multi-purpose venue.

“This is an absolute first for Italy,” noted Juventus director general Jean-Claude Blanc on Monday evening.

“A stadium-come-entertainment venue capable of ‘living’ seven days a week, of welcoming families into an ultra secure environment and of hosting major international events.

“The development plan is aimed at obtaining sporting results of the highest level, in compliance with financial requisites and adhering to the values which characterise our operation.”

The board unanimously approved the plan which will get underway if Italy are awarded the 2012 European Championships.

The Delle Alpi revamp will cost no less than £85m and will be aided by funds from the government and the Italian Football Federation.

Juventus were set to rebuild the Delle Alpi this summer, but the Calciopoli scandal saw the previous project scrapped.

Juve, who moved into the Delle Alpi after the 1990 World Cup, are currently playing their home games at the Stadio Olimpico.
